大阪大学・教育実践センターの下記のアンケートについて協力依頼を受けております。

「大学における学生の質に関する国際比較研究―教育の質保証・向上の観点から」

対象は、日本国外の大学で学ぶ大学学部生・大学院生ということで、理系文系は問わないそうです。

近年、大学評価が大きく取り上げられているが、その背景には、市場経済のグローバル化に影響を受け、教育分野がサービス市場に開放された結果、大学において国際競争力の増強が求められつつあること、また知識社会を通しての高度化や高質化等を大学が担うべきであるという考えが出てきたことが深く関係している。一方、限られた資源配分のなかで、より効率的な教育研究を実施するための判断材料として評価が求められるようになった。確かに高等教育が量的拡大から質的発展の段階に移ったとされ、大学に期待される役割も多様化している。
経済構造の変化・技術革新により教育改革の必要に迫られる一方で、多様化への対応は個別大学に任せられているため、評価を通じて諸機関の全体としての一定の教育研究水準は維持されなければならない。しかし、その評価過程において教育主体（Pedagogy subject）たるべき学生を多様な観点から統合的に捉えようとする視点が欠落しているように思われる。知識の発見、伝達、学習、応用を司る大学においては、教育、研究、学習が機能の核として位置づけられ、大学教員が実施する研究と教育は、学習主体である学生により社会の中で具現化され、顕在化する。学生は大学の構成員であり、知的後継者であり、教員に対峙する役割をも持つものである。それゆえ本研究では教育主体たる学生の質に焦点を当てることによって、大学における教育の質保証及び向上を図る方策を研究し、その成果を高等教育関係者、団体、社会に還元するものである。

The aim of the project is to generate specific policies aimed at raising the “quality” of university students. In order to achieve this aim, the project set out in the first instance to implement at principal universities within Japan a questionnaire survey examining the present state of the “quality” of students at higher education institutions today, asking as the basic problem what qualities are needed by students as members of a university and members of society, not limited to issues of academic ability, but including within a very wide spectrum such factors as students’ ability to evaluate educational practice in such forms as lectures and other activities, or their degree of autonomy as members of an organization. Following on from this, the project will aim to compare and verify analogous results from universities overseas.
The Japanese part of the project has already been implemented.
In the coming fiscal year, the intention is to implement the project in higher education institutions in overseas countries, particularly the UK and other EU countries, northern Europe, and other countries in Asia.
The implementation of this kind of questionnaire survey aimed at students is without parallel in Japan, and I am entirely convinced that the results will be of great value not only to universities in Japan, but to universities throughout the world.
Since it is highly desirable to accumulate survey results from students over a very wide area, I would be immensely grateful if I could get the cooperation of your university in implementing this project.

アンケートの対象者ですが、海外の大学で学んでおられる方であれば、国籍も不問だとのことです。
